When I make a server, no one can join it, it turns up in lan tab, instead of Internet tab, why? A few months later I got a Instant Messenger, now It says Disconnecting: error indentifing SteamID ticket. What the heck?

I think it can be a few things.
1. Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) Is not working right.
2. Your firewall is preventing anyone from joining.
3. You may have to many mods.
or
4. You have a virus.
This is the error.
(error verifying Steam user id ticket)
This is the cure.
1. Make sure you remember you're password. Username was saved for me.
2. Open STEAM
3. Select File
4. Select change user
5. A message will come up saying this will log you out of STEAM.
6. Click OK
7. Enter correct details
8. Log in.
Now after this is complete try getting into a server. This worked for me :)
When you get your gmod running you will need to port foward your router.
Search the forum or Google it.

Yes, I do have quiet alot of mods, that may not be the case though, my freind is having thr same problem, but when he makes a server, it works on the third try, I think.

I tried what Darell recommended, now the server will come up, but it is still in the lan tab, help?

Okay, two years past and I think I figured out why the problem, and wow, coming back to me saying this stuff is funny now to think about it.
Anyway, I can get a server to come up, but I can't join it, because dedicated server hosts can seem to join their own server. So I fixed the issue, The End. lol
I think that wraps up the post, waiting for a thread lock-up now I guess.
