• My server won't show up in master list...!??!
    10 replies, posted
I'm trying to establish a GMOD DarkRP server and failing miserably...Everything is up and running, but the problem is my server is not showing up on the master list. People (my friends) whom I have given the IP to can join, but since it doesn't appear on the master list, no one else can join. I think it could be an issue with my fail port-forwarding (New DLINK DIR-628 router makes the task seem much more daunting...) So here is an image of what I have forwarded: Could anyone provide any help or support?
If it is a listen server, then you cannot see it on the master list.
listen basicly means lan. sv_lan 0 // makes it non lan heartbeat 1 // shows up in server list
I typed sv_lan 0 and heartbeat 1 directly into the console, and then I also added it to the autoexec. Here is a picture of what my server console looks like, maybe seeing that can help form some sort of solution. Bump
Im having same problem as ferraribird, done all the forwarding and such to no avail.
I posted this in another topic. You need a dynamic ip (an ip that does not change) I had your problem yesterday but now I have a fully functional darkRP server I recomment this: https://www.dtdns.com hostname manager. Type you ISP IP in the web address and get a dynamic IP that way. When you have done this you need to update your IP using a tool called DirectUpdate http://www.directupdate.net/download.html then when you run your server it should show up in the internet/favourites tab for everyone, go to steam>server>"YouServerName">right click>add to favourites. You will now know if it works or not by simply going to favourites, then spread the word about your server. Hope this helps.
An IP that does not change is a Static IP.
listen basicly means lan. sv_lan 0 // makes it non lan heartbeat 1 // shows up in server list
Listen does not mean LAN. It means that you clicked Create Multiplayer and are hosting the server on your own connection.
Ok just started up my server today without making any changes, now people can see it on the internet list. I'm so confused why it would work one day and not the next.
i was wrong, snipe
I got this working a long time ago, thanks to all who aided. Also, yeah...I have quite a bit forwarded lmao. Also, my issue that I didn't have a static IP.
