Ok, so how does dedicated server renting work?
Does it use my Garry's mod addons on the server? Or only the one you rented?
Also.. after an explanation i would like some suggestions on good placed to rent dedicated servers from.
When you rent a dedicated server you pay the host a monthly fee, in return for this you get a server with the amount of game sots you paid for. They will also provide you with some sort of Game Control panel where you can start/stop the game serve, upload addons and maps and also edit things like the command line and config files to add admins and set what map loads etc.
Too get addons onto the server you just need to download them then upload them to the server via the Game Control Panel then anyone who joins your server will be able to use the addon, this is the same with maps and gamemodes.

Shepsie explained how the server works pretty well, so I'll just recommend you some places:
For US hosting I would go with [url=http://www.xenonservers.com/]www.XenonServers.com[/url]. I've been a customer there for more than a year now and have had no problems at all.
For UK hosting, I hear the [url=http://www.bioservers.co.uk/]BioServers.co.uk[/url] is good. I haven't had any first hand experience with them because I live in the US though.
