• Very unique issue with Extensions and Add-ons!

I have bought Gmod 10 with Half-Life 2:Deathmatch, and also recently downloaded the free version of Portal as well. I quickly learned that Portal is not a game that wants to run on my system from 2005. Gmod worked before the download, and wouldn't after. I transferred all of my Steam information onto my secondary drive, and uninstalled them on my C drive. The client and all of the game information is now on my E drive, and problems hadn't occurred until recently. The main problem is that my Portal game won't start up, and gives a reference error. This shouldn't be a problem, because I could just take it out of the extensions and add-ons, right? No! I checked my Extensions and Add-ons, and my HL2:DM apparently no longer exists to Gmod. I looked through my files, and both Gmod and Portal have a "content.gcf" file, but the one that is missing. This wouldn't be a problem, except because it's running off of the non-working Portal, it gives the same error! My question is this: What on Earth can I do to re-add it back into my Extensions list? And yes, I have played it. 8 hours of it, to tell the truth. And my Gmod worked before all of this, too. Note: My system information is:Summary Operating System MS Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3 CPU Intel Celeron Northwood 0.13um Technology RAM 512MB DDR @ 132MHz (2-2-2-6) Motherboard Dell Computer Corp. 0F5949 (Microprocessor) Graphics LCD1970NX @ 1280x1024 Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller Hard Drives 195GB Seagate ST3200827A (ATA) 36 °C 39.1GB Western Digital WDC WD400BB-75JHC0 (IDE) 33 °C Optical Drives TigerJet CD-ROM USB Device HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8483B HP DVD Writer 840b Audio USB Audio Device Operating System MS Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3 Installation Date: 10 May 2005, 17:21 Serial Number: RCBF6-6KDMK-GD6GR-K6DP3-4C8MT CPU Intel Celeron Cores 1 Threads 1 Name Intel Celeron Code Name Northwood Package Socket 478 mPGA Technology 0.13um Specification Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz Family F Extended Family F Model 2 Extended Model 2 Stepping 9 Revision D1 Instructions MMX, SSE, SSE2 Bus Speed 99.7 MHz Rated Bus Speed 398.8 MHz Stock Core Speed 2400 MHz Stock Bus Speed 100 MHz Caches L1 Data Cache Size 8 KBytes L1 trace cache 12 Kuops L2 Unified Cache Size 128 KBytes Core 0 Core Speed 2392.2 MHz Multiplier x 24.0 Bus Speed 99.7 MHz Rated Bus Speed 398.8 MHz Thread 1 APIC ID 0 RAM Memory slots Total memory slots 2 Used memory slots 2 Free memory slots 0 Memory Type DDR Size 512 MBytes DRAM Frequency 132.9 MHz CAS# Latency (CL) 2 clocks RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) 2 clocks RAS# Precharge (tRP) 2 clocks Cycle Time (tRAS) 6 clocks SPD Number Of SPD Modules 2 Slot #1 Type DDR Size 256 MBytes Manufacturer MOSEL Max Bandwidth PC3200 (200 MHz) Part Number V826632K24SCTG-D3 Serial Number E2513464 Week/year 05 / 05 SPD Ext. Try reinstalling. What do you mean by 'free'?
Try reinstalling. What do you mean by 'free'?
When I say "free," I meant the free Portal download thing that was on a couple months ago or so. I figure it lacks something, even though I have un-installed and re-installed it multiple times.
How did you play anything with so little RAM... :ohdear: Try increasing your paging file a bit.
How did you play anything with so little RAM... :ohdear: Try increasing your paging file a bit.
Thanks for reading through that wall of text, but my paging file amount is around 4 gigs.
You're trying to run garrysmod on an old Dell from 2005. The issue isn't garrysmod, exensions or addons. It's your computer.
You're trying to run garrysmod on an old Dell from 2005. The issue isn't garrysmod, exensions or addons. It's your computer.
Actually, it's run really well before. If you look at my Steam profile, you'll see I spent some hours playing it. It worked well up until recently.
When was the last time you played garrysmod without problems?
When was the last time you played garrysmod without problems?
Let's see... ...around half of a year. Why? BTW, the reason it's so long is because I stopped playing for a couple of months, then when I tried, it didn't work. It's always giving me some reference issue, even though I've uninstalled and reinstalled like 3 times for each game, played Portal and HL2:DM and then Garry's Mod.
There's been a lot of changes to garrysmod over the past six months. Your computer can't run this game anymore I'm afraid.
You shouldent even been able to run garrysmod with that computer since long ago, you was very lucky it worked half a year ago
You shouldent even been able to run garrysmod with that computer since long ago, you were very lucky it worked half a year ago
I just checked. My computer has ALL of the minimum requirements for all 3 games. So it's not that.
