'Lo all. I was wondering if there's any way to run Left 4 Dead maps in Gmod. The obvious, copy-pasting the map file to the gmod map directory, just crashes the game. Do I need to move the nav file as well, or are they just incompatible?

Incompatible. This was discussed by Garry and won't be fixed 'till update to L4D engine AFAIK.
It can be done, but so far only with L4D1 maps. Go to the mapping releases forum, there's a thread about one of the maps from Dead Before Dawn being ported. I'm sure you can find info on how to port the others from there.
