Problem:
When I start up GMOD to play, I see the blue loading bar in the lower center of the screen, then when it nears the end, the screen goes black. I can still control my mouse, but the screen stays black. It takes me a few tries to get GMOD started up properly, but then it screws up the next time I run it. Can anyone figure this out?

Yes I do own it, and yes I have tried reinstalling and the problem persists.
May I add in that I also get a lua error when I open the Q menu, and when I use the Remover tool.

Thats not the way to get help.
If people aren't sure of the problem, then they won't reply. You say you get a lua error with the remover. Rename your garrysmod/garrysmod folder to garrysmod_old, then launch garrysmod.
