[Recruitment] Garry's Mod - Garry's Mod

Hello everyone! I am currently looking for someone whom can setup and run Garry's Mod servers! I am willing to make 2-5 GMOD Servers and whoever want's (1 Person) will be chosen to be head of the Garry's Mod Department for my Clan. If you are interested! Reply below!

You'll have to be a bit more specific than that...

What is there to be more specific about? You would be head of the Garry's Mod Department. You would create the servers, make sure they run smoothly, and ensure they work. Updating them, and adding new things.

Who's footing the bill.

Me xD. I own my own Clan and Community. We have like 8 or so servers. I just need someone with a lot of knowledge of Garry's Mod to be head of that Department.

Payment? :) It's quite a demanding job.

No ones getting payment LOL. You get admin in all of the servers. I have a head of TF2 Dept. He doesn't ask for payment. I'm not paying anyone. I could do it myself... But I don't have enough time anymore.

People asking for payment are simply being greedy, honestly. You aren't paying the bill, he is. All you're doing is sitting on your ass preventing members of the community from cheating and getting at each-others throats.

He's asking for someone to manage the servers, update them and add new stuff (this assumely includes Lua stuff, so coding work too.). It's not a particularly easy job.

He's asking for a guy to manage his Garry's Mod Division and you know, you don't have to post your opinion on it here, if you guys [B]don't want[/B] to help him for [B]free[/B] then you guys should just leave this thread alone. As for me, I will be willing to help anyone without payment.

The server(s) will most likely be with a GSP so all you'd have to do is click a button to update everything. not that hard. and uploading some stuff over FTP? Not too hard either.

For anyone who thinks it's an easy job, I should probably tell you that being a Gmod server owner is really tough work. You'll have to deal with little kids who annoy you constantly for power and you'll have to deal with a lot of bullshit. With any luck, you'll last maybe 3 months before you get burned out

It's just I don't have time to setup servers and stuff, I'm looking for a manager and person to set up servers, not a developer. Thanks to all who understand. It isn't that tough. Threaten to ban them. This shuts the majority of them up. As for other people's bullshit, most is solvable within about 10 minutes. Drama between two players is their problem, and until they break one of the server's rules, it stays that way. If dealing with people is hard for you (everyone, not just ericson), then I guess being a server owner would be hard for you. I would help you out, OP, but A) I am busy with my own projects/work, B) I mess around on gmod too much to be known as a serious server owner, and would probably make you look bad ,and C) I tend to do bad things when I get ftp creds/rcon passwords... I personally believe this is not the way to go to find a person to join the high-end of the community without knowing anything about them. It's plain stupid, you should be running a community and looking for people with talent that want to work with you to create a better experience, instead of searching on a forum that you just joined to find a random 12 year old kid that thinks he's capable of running even one Garry's Mod server.

If I were you, I'd ask people who are regulars in your community and if you've got a forum, maybe set up some applications. As lovely as Facepunch people are, it's probably not the best idea to trust someone you've never talked properly with.

I have ran so many communities and 2. I am not 12. You really assume just because I'm doing something free for someone else, that I am 12? Is that how this community is? Just call a random person 12 because they help someone else? Well I have a statement for anyone that reads. I do stuff for free because I want to, and also that I get experience with more communities. I have been around for a very long time and I don't necessarily believe that coming into this thread and tell me to "Cry" about things. No, that's not how it works buddy. I do stuff for free because I can, and no one tells me otherwise. I will end this post with telling you that I have ran many servers, and all were successful. I'd do it. I don't have experience, but I don't think it will be to much of a job. It seems you need to be able to lead and interact with people.
