I don't know why but the last gmod update gave me all tf2 models and maps....i don't even have the game. also they are not even missing the textures.
Is this normal or am i just very lucky?

no clue. I just started up gmod and it said "instaling update" so i waited and it took along time.
after it was done i started it up then hit "single player"
I was going down to the "other" section in select a map when i saw "team fortress 2"
i clicked it and saw almost 30 somthing maps (im guessing thats all of them) i click one, aited for it to load and was surprised when i was missing no textures. I opend my "q" menu and saw Team fortress 2 again I clicked it and found every ragdoll, effect, and model from tf2 (excluding bonus weapons and hats)
Again, no missing textures
Probably the Team Fortress 2 free weekend gave you the content.
There r 2 free days of tf2, the same happnd 2 me. it installed the game by itself 4 me, and mabe u 2.
Free weekend gave it. I got the CS:S content when someone gave me a friend ticket (or whatever it was) for CS:S. And I also gotten DoD:S content for three days as another free weekend thing. So you get to use the TF2 content for the weekend. Though, there isn't much a normal guy would know in how to use it besides posing ragdolls.

Can u keep the weekend content or does tf2 uninstall itself after the free weekend

true, BUT i own a valide copy of it for xbox so technicly i still bought it.
You're able to download the content for free with SRCDS (for server hosting).
So if they're allowing free, unrestricted downloading of the TF2 content already, I don't think it'd be illegal to extract the models and whatnot from the GCFs you got from the free weekend.
I don't know for sure, though.
If you take the models and such without buying the game..... Valve will go down and never have new games.
Could someone possibly have gifted you it?
