Ohey ! Everyone does remember when you could actually replace your ugly default HL² SMG with a nice looking HD random shit from Gamebanana. I want this back, really. I looked for a solution since the update 162 came out in May, I visited hundred of pages, and I'm not exagerating... :suicide: So far I didn't see anyone who really tried to raise the question at the point where someone talented in Lua would do something to help the Gmod community to find the gaming experience they all loved -wich got murdered, but that's not the goal of the topic to discuss about this anyways-. So, I'm asking, because I loved when you could handle a nice looking gun instead of having a useless HD epic hand viewmodel that matches only the default playermodels, I'm asking, can someone could do, or tell me, how to disable the so awesome "Unified Viewmodel", or how to make the old reskins compatible with this ? :) This said, I'm a complete dick in coding so the last solution would be more like a complication, but I'm open to all of your solutions, even if I had to learn Lua or reinstall my whole Steam for it to work. Default HL² weps reskins that work after the Update 162 ? ô.o You've got to be kidding...
Having f'd about with making sweps before, I am sorry to tell you I don't think you can disable the hands. The default weapons all use custom models by Garry (They were made to use the C model system which I think Garry soorta got the idea for from games like L4D and TF2) and the hands them selves are part of the weapon's script. (SWEP.Usehands = True or something like that).
Mmh... So would it be possible to bring back the old V model weapons to Gmod 13, or is the game now incompatible with this old weapon version ?

Then he sent the finished products to Max, and Max sorted everything out. Then Garry did coding magic to make them work.
