After updating to the latest gmod update, the server won't connect to the VAC servers and therefore no steam id's obviously... Players are kicked after a minute or two, so this is a critical problem. Server has a direct connection to the outside, 1Gb both ways and iptables has been turned off completely.
It's a Fedora Core 10 server, and it used to work fine but the latest update caused this. I'm running the server through wine. There is also no problems joining it nor any problems finding it on the server list.
Stop using wine and take a look on this ;

Haven't got it checked with addons yet tho, but it does work.
(Wine makes so vac securing the server takes longer, no idea why)
