IM just about fed up with all this lag crap i get in Gmod and other steam games and id like to know how to improve my FPS sud i buy my self a good video card or more ram they both suck.
Processor.
Gmod is not 64 bit, so it cannot utilize more then 3(ish)gigabytes of RAM. Video card is more important, and it will run much better if you do not change your screen resolution.
RAM will also do nothing to your FPS.

So what dose RAM do?
im not 100% sure but i think its some where around 250mb of ram

to check what most of your system's specs are, hold the WINDOWS KEY, and press the key labeled "Pause/Break."
if that ram amount is true, you will need more ram.

for now i can only afford one so winch is more important?

How can you afford a graphics card OR RAM, RAM is cheap.
Specs are really important here. Please get them.
