Okay, I have searched countless upon countless of times on how to use r[URL="http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Resource.AddFile"]esource.addfile[/URL]
What is it? What file do I put it in, REALLY confused. My friend has to keep re-downloading my files every single time he joins. How does this work? Most of the npcs have weird movement animations that I can't fix and are practically telling me to :fuckoff:. I have already followed the official server setup and still I have been [URL="http://www.epicfuckingfail.com/072.html"]epicly failing[/URL]. Also, is there a way to keep the camera from lagging when it follows players? (When you spawn a camera with left click and it follows your movement but stays in fixed position)
Finally, could someone please explain to me why I needed to put all the stuff gmod mounts in the [B]C:/srcds/orangebox/[/B] folder instead of C:/srcds/ except the hl2 folder?
With all this, let's face it, most of you veterans out there got lucky on your first dedicated server creation regardless of the [URL="http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Dedicated_Server_Setup"]garry's mod dedicated server setup page[/URL] (which isn't specific enough when telling you how to set up your server)

Not to be a total wad and bump this thread but, if we can work this problem out or something it would be great. If only there was a sticky of common problems that had more than like five problems listed.

Well wow, never mind, didn't do crap...It's still broken and I need a solution and an explanation of exactly how to set up fast download and fix the npc's animations.
have you updated your cache? i mean on the ftp.
You can edit your posts, ya'know.
You are using resource.addfile when you should be using resource.AddFile
It is case-sensitive.
Also, try to change the paths + filenames to lowercase. (in the resource.AddFile list as well)

Thank you for an answer that was genuinely useful. It hasn't been made too clear out there on the internet that it's case sensitive. Also, could you tell me...do sv_allowdownload and sv_allowupload need to be set a "0". Because I have them set to "0".
My values are set to 1, but I'm not sure whether they matter or not. Change your values to 1 and test.
