Does anyone here know of a good hosting company that does gmod servers?
LowPings, I havent been disappointed with their server (although i now host my own)
Xenon servers. Low cost and the best customer service of any business in any field
Xenon servers. Low cost and the best customer service of any business in any field
That's pretty laughable. Their customer service is the most lackluster part of their entire service. They're online about once a day, for an hour. And considering you need to upload .dll files through them, it gets tedious fast. Also, they only give you access to the garrysmod folder.
Xenon servers. Low cost and the best customer service of any business in any field
Their custommer support SUCKS MY LEFT NUT. They almost all day offline and they have no respect for you.
Xenon servers. Low cost and the best customer service of any business in any field
Our experience with the was not that great. It started out fine when we had our first server with them, everything worked great until they deiced to do their "upgrade". After that our server went down hill, it became unstable and quite laggy, some minor fixes made the server a bit better but it has seemed weaker than before. Our main troubles with them came after Xenon Servers "merged" with Clan Base Live (we had one server from CBL as well) . Their merge did not go well at all (I cannot fully blame Xenon Servers but they could have handled it better.) not only were we out of a server for a two weeks we also lost our files on the server (thankfully I had a backup from a month or two back). During this merge customer service was bad, no one on either side was doing much to get our server or files back. We finally got a new server running and things were okay for a while, the servers did not seem top notch though. We are now hosting our own servers and so far there they seem strong than the servers we had with Xenon. Thats just how are experience with them went I don't want to bash them, they have been helpful at times and I am sure these problems could be found on many GSP's. If you do choose them make sure they put you on a box that's not overload, if you have any problems keep bugging them about it, keep the tickrate low on your server and make BACKUPS!
www.igameservers.co.uk They're a good host
The two commonly agreed on best are Xenon and Brohoster right now. Both offer stable (I mean, really stable) servers for a decent price. Brohoster is much more expensive for higher slot counts, but that is due to the way Jake handles his servers mostly. They each cater to Garrysmod servers better than most hosts, who have a habit of overpopulating a dedicated box, meaning if you need more resources than is available you affect other servers, and vice-versa. You get what you pay for.
That's pretty laughable ... And considering you need to upload .dll files through them, it gets tedious fast. Also, they only give you access to the garrysmod folder.
because letting your clients take over your box is what the cool kids do
Get a VPS.

Brohoster represent.
Xenonservers, Definitly, though im not sure about their server in the UK last time i bought a server from there they were sold out.
Get a VPS.
Oh hey, get a VPS for a game server. What a BRILLIANT idea.
Get a VPS.
I have a VPS, and it's the best server host.. [editline]10th November 2010[/editline]
Oh hey, get a VPS for a game server. What a BRILLIANT idea.
Server(s)

There are only a couple people (Chris and I) who handle DLL extractions which is usually why you will have to wait a bit, but considering the security benefit and that you shouldn't need to upload DLL's more than once or twice a month, I don't see why that should be a huge problem. We also have about 20 of the most popular modules on the mod installer. The folder level is to help people out who are new to uploading things. If you need access outside of that folder, just open a ticket and we will change the file manager/ftp path for you.
Their custommer support SUCKS MY LEFT NUT. Please PM me the email address or name on your client area account because I'd like to figure out what is sucking your left nut (specifically the no respect part). @TornadoChas3r: I agree that it's bad that servers were not transferred when we purchased Clan Base Live. The CBL servers were taken offline without notification to us and the whole thing was somewhat uncoordinated.
Ah, so you bought Clan Base Live? Well, their forums didn't work due to php errors and a typo caused the registration to be delayed. Still, not a bad host.
In all my experiance, Xenon has fixed all my issues FOR me. Also, you dont need them to upload DLL's
Brohoster, without a doubt. While you do have to give them the .dll's to upload(though I can't think of a single server provider I've been with that doesn't do this), Jake and his people are really quick in answering service tickets.
www.brohoster.com Fucking fantastic service

What also sucks, I pay for PING BOOST and 500FPS. But it laggs like shit, alright there is a distance. But let's say LmaoLlama's servers have no lagg for me which are rented from Xenon.

This is a power struggle. :v: [editline]11th November 2010[/editline]
Xenon Servers does not have support chat..
We do :fuckyou: But it's understandable XenonServers doesn't, support techs usually just don't have the time to be on livechat because they're almost always fixing something.
Xenon Servers does not have support chat..
They have a ticket support system which comes with TCAdmin in my opinion it's a lot better than have an chat. Because you can view the clients server from the ticket the client submitted. If you don't understand I can show you with a quick video on how TCAdmin support system works. I'll try not to side on either end of Xns vs Brohost because they both have some flaws.

Also, i always found livechat to be an easier way of getting support due to the extra communication. It's sort of like the telephone versus plain mail. It takes us (xenon/bh) literally ten seconds to get to a clients server too because of whmcs quick search and the tcadmin integration.
We do :fuckyou: But it's understandable XenonServers doesn't, support techs usually just don't have the time to be on livechat because they're almost always fixing something.
We're getting people to do support through live chat and via our 1-800 number when I launch the new site. :) @Heinserver: I would imagine that the lag has something to do with the latency from your location, but if other servers that we host aren't lagging for you then you should open a support ticket so we can see if there's something wrong with your server (or the box/network). @Aide: We use WHMCS for tickets, but I have it setup so clients can select their server IP when they open a ticket and one click gets us wherever we want to be.
Xenon Servers.
xenon all the way, support is fast, servers are good
I'd go with Xenon; not expensive, friendly/quick support, great servers that rarely crash.
