Frustrated.. and about to give up. Help?

Hi there.

So in a short'ish paragraph: I'm trying to get a server started. Hosted by sleekservers.com. I'm having trouble getting models and materials and stuff to download to clients when they join, and I've done pretty much all my experienced friends have said, and nothing works still. I've extracted the models and materials from the addon to the models and materials folder under garrysmod, i've listed all the files in add.Resource("file") format and put that in the lua/autorun/server folder. I've configured the server.cfg file to enable upload and download and maxbitrate (or whatever). No sv_downloadurl though, because even though it SHOULD work... it doesn't and messes up DarkRP... so I avoid that. Cherry from SammyServers.com has been helping me out, but the only conclusion we can both agree on is the fact that rented servers suck.

Anyone have any suggestions? Or am I better off finding a better host?

Just talked with support. It looks like they don't support clients to download models and materials, without "a process that would take hours". When asked what it entailed, I was told "Sorry, I can't help you".
