Can't get any addons to work

I purchased Garry's Mod from Steam earlier today and since then I have been trying unsuccessfully to get some addons installed.

I have tried several addons, following the readme instructions exactly but none of them seem to be working.

I extract the file to steamapps > username > garrysmod > garrysmod > addons then restart Garry's Mod.

Spent all afternoon trying to get this working, does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Check if the files you are downloading have a file named "Info.txt" on them(On their root next to the folders materials, models, etc).

Also check the requirements for each addon (some require certain models or games to work).

Also, what kind of addons are you installing? models or scripts(lua) stuff?

They have the info.txt file.

I can't see anything about extra requirements.

I presume you are unzipping the files first. Also, PHX2 is outdated. The very latest version can be downloaded here: [url]http://www.glua.net/dl.php?file=phx.zip[/url]

Tell us which are the files that come there.
(I mean the files on the zip, maybe there is something fishy about it).
