Ok I recently got a new laptop and every time I try to run Garrys Mod I get the following error:
"HL2.exe has stoped responding"
I have tryed all the 'fixes' I can find and none of them work. The fixes were things like changing the launch options for directx, opening in windowed mode, reinstalling, varifying the game cach, running in compatibility mode for xp sp2 and deleting 'clientregistry.blob'.
I have also tryed running it from a networked computer which runs it fine. i.e. installed of comp 2 (it woeks on comp 2) and seting up a network map to rin it om comp 1 (where it dosn't work). It gives the same error.
My specs are:
Pentium Dual-core T4200 (2.00 GHz)
2 GB of RAM
Moblie Intel 4 series Express Chipset Family
32-bit Win Vista Installation
Comp 1 has a brand new installation with no mods on it
Comp 2 has several mods that on of my friends installed Im not sure what they are
It's your graphics card. You have a integrated intel one. Try -dxlevel 70 in your launch options. Make sure you have run one source game at least once.
OK. That worked thanks for the help.
Actualy its directx lvl 8 that I needed. When in 7 the menu items go buggy and theres no crosshair.
