How did people get different backgrounds on the main menu?

I've always wondered, there's one with a guy holding the tool gun/phys gun, and there's one where a guy is jamming a cone onto G-Man's head. How do yo9u do that?

Really though extract the .vtf and .vmt's to /yoursteamappsdirectory/garrymod/garrysmod/materials/console/

The cone was the background before the one we have currently, but custom backgrounds are possible too.

Download one off of [url]http://garrysmod.org[/url] (even though they suck) and extract it to /steamapps/garrysmod/garrysmod/materials/console directory. (Fill in the places before steamapps)

There are a bunch of GMOD backgrounds on Garry'smod.org. Most of them come with installation dirrections.

FP goes by your steam tag some profiles have a crapload of numbers instead of the profile url saying the name. Like my url i have a crapload of numbers The reason my steam link won't work is because it goes to A14 instead of using the numbers.
