The closecaption_english.dat problem

Hi,

I'm sorry. I'm sure this has been asked before, I've tried googling, looking thru pages on here (the seach function is disabled), and I've found websites where people report the problem, but I can't find a solution.

I've just downloaded Garry's Mod from Steam. I get the opening image of the guy walking away with two weapons and some crows, a status bar that gets as far as "initialising HUD" and then this:

Engine Error

Invalid file for c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\username\garrysmod\ep2\resource\closecaption_english.dat

There's no ep2 folder in the garrymod folder (there's a hl2 folder) and there's no file "closecaption_english.dat" anywhere on my pc.

I'm using Windows 2000 (Steam states Gmod will work with w2k)

Half-Life Deathmatch: Source

All of these purchased from Steam.

Do you need any other info? I'm a bit of a noob with Steam/Half Life technical stuff.

update: I installed it on my Vista laptop and it works. But my PC has a far greater spec/gfx card and I'd prefer to run it on that.
