Through the months LitFuse haa been dead, I have been thinking of their best piece of machinimatography. War of the servers. I couldn't find the RP sub-forum so I am going to put this here. I currently have Ideas on how this could work.
Yesterday I was nrowsing the toybox section when I encountered the mingebag prop. This gave me a filming Idea. So I hopped on source recorder and did a test run of a course I made. Now after that I thought of a previous thread I made abput WOTS, this gave me a spark of imagination. So I quickly brainstormed on Ideas about how to make this work. And I belive I have spun up an Idea.
An idea is to host 2 Servers. One set in a roleplay esque universe. (Double the roleplay!) And the other is in a sandbox esque universe of roleplay. Ingame admin only means you can guide a server, although being an expirienced and trusted admin gives you better chances of serving a special role in an event. Ic and Ooc admins are, for the most part different. (derp) And those applying for admin ICly will run a course involving the mingebag models and such, If a player is an actual mingebag, He will be booted from the IC world for admins and regular people IC into a world off to the side and given an auth to where he only spawns there unless he can get his act together, Basically a banned camp. Keep in mind that anti-server Crashing precations will be on. Although the second world off to the side will have a section of itself for actual IC mingebags.
But you guys get my ideas, Now it's time for your ideas and critisism.
WOTS was a bad(Yes, bad) spoof of jeff wayne's musical adaption of HG wells' novel War Of The Worlds,
And it was only thought of as good because nobody knew any better,
It butchered the plot(Badly) and used terrible textures and voice actors who obviously did not understand the source material.
It also stole the musical's songs without noting fully where they came from.

While i did enjoy the machinima itself at first, yes, On second glance it was as i explained above

And back to the matter at hand, As WOTS Was rather bad itself i cannot see how it can become a good and convincing RP premise, it lacks enough "meat" and backstory to be a long-played and highly intricate story-starting setting, It also lacks any real form of genuine feeling or fear within it to generate proper roleplay, as it was already tongue-in-cheek enough that any gamemode except the most complex RP scripts would utterly destroy any seriousness to be had within the setting.
