http://wiki.garrysmod.com/?title=Solaris_Zones_Dedicated_Server_Setup Server owners could bring power costs down a bit if they could run several gmod servers on one box. Since servers these days are multi-core, this tutorial shows you how to configure OpenSolaris Zones to be used for hosting garrysmod games based on one CPU per srcds instance. I hope someone finds it useful!
Looks good, but the issues with linux is the absence of any good reputable control panels that people are familiar with. Also is this similar to defining affinity in a windows enviroment other than the facility to specify a RAM usage amount?
It probably is similar - I'm going to work on CPU and RAM affinity today and when it's working, add that to the tutorial. I'm aware that the lack of good control panels is currently an issue. I thought about making one, but since TCAdmin is not free, I'm not sure whether to design one and sell it, or knock something up that's not as thorough in terms of the games it supports, but works well for source.
Would be nice to include a script to toggle the GUI on/off. Since Opensolaris uses GNOME, and that isn't exactly the most lightweight GUI for a server.
pfexec svcadm disable gdm Added that to the tutorial, thanks :)

Solaris, OpenBSD and NetBSD hosting isn't currently working due to either GLIBC incompatibility or Kernel Syscall mismatches. Darwin (Mac OS X) has no UNIX emulation layer for Linux binaries FreeBSD 8.0 i386 runs the Linux binaries very well
