[b][Cube] Gamemode[/b] By Disseminate [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rll9LTBONNc[/media] When I noticed the map gm_cube, I downloaded it, being a fan of the movie. When looking in GMod's server browser, all I noticed was a couple servers running it with Sandbox. That's right, noclip-enabled, prop-spawning Sandbox. This isn't cube, I thought, and decided to make a gamemode myself. So here it is. Sweet I'm glad I don't have to keep downloading the gamemode every time I play Garry's Mod.

I would like to make a suggestion to Cube. Pen and Notepad! It may need experienced Lua scripter for this though. Of course, anyone can do this outside of the game in real life, but the sole idea for this is to help others to see what you have kept track of. Not asking for a super realistic drawing like in PhotoShop or some shit. MS Paint-like effect is fine, whatever. It should be equipped like a weapon, should lock the screen in place and mouse movement become a drawing pen. Hold left-click to draw. Right-click to erase. Wheel-scroll to flip through pages of a small hand size spiral notepad. If you died... others would be able to pick up your notepad and read your progress and make changes or add if he/she like. You can also drop it to pass onto someone else.

you should make custom hands so it doesnt look like your where the suit.

I followed the instructions exactly, yet it refuses to show up in my list of game modes in Gmod. Is there any way you can help me?

The reason the gamemode doesn't show up is because it lacks the oh so needed info.txt file.

v1.03 doesn't work for me as an addon, except for the map - moving the gamemode to the (garrysmod\)garrysmod folder helped somewhat, but it only worked serverside and clientside if I unpacked the entire addon to the (garrysmod\)garrysmod folder. v1.02 worked perfectly for me, more or less. However: The spawnmenu that cl_Menu shows is supposed to appear for Admins\SuperAdmins, never appears, probably due to the hidehud function in cl_HUDS:5. When/How is the screen defined in cl_help supposed to appear?

were do we find/put the info.txt file so it will show up on the list?

The addon worked for me. 2) Spawnmenu never did work; I have no clue why. 3) cl_help is shown by gm_showspare1 or F1.

What we need is a yell button, so when you press it you yell "Hello?!" or something. It would make finding people without an admin easier.

I loved the movies and i love the map and this gamemode is awsome but the cube in the map only has 3 sides to the cube... the other sides just teleports so find an edge and it only takes about 10 minutes until your out. but making the map true to the movie would be virtually impossible (27x27x27=19683) so hopefully there will be another version of the map, and, if anyone wants help making it im happy to help. Though im pretty sure i could never out do Lord Ivan.

Yeah, and how do you expect to make 19683 cubes in the Source engine? If I had the time, I'd script a thing where you'd TP to the other edge from the shell until ten minutes had elapsed, but I have no time.

No fix for this not-working-problem yet? I so want to play this. I want to get killed in gory ways. :D

I fucking love this gamemode. Unfortunately I can never find a server hosting it.

this only needs the info.txt and its done. Disseminate gamemodes files needs the info.txt to. so if you could post the info file here or upload it woulod be really cool

I'd easily host a server with this game mode, but I can't get the damned thing to work, it recognises the map, just not the game mode. :(
