Well, I was looking for darkrp, (yes I know, you all hate it) and I found a bug in FAdmin's jail system. Anyway, back to the point: I tried to post a reply, and it said that I couldn't post in this forum anymore. link: http://www.facepunch.com/forums/364-Roleplay-Releases You just try to make a reply in one of them..
The roleplay releases sub-forum was removed, as well as the roleplay sub-forum.
No offense, but that's retarded.
I don't really understand why it was removed... I don't see what the reasoning was. Could someone please explain it to me?
Mayby it because people are are just plain tired of hearing "DarkRP".
DarkRP generally isn't even roleplay, typically it is used to extremely light RP if any at all because of its community. I use Nexus/Tacoscript, SERIOUS gamemode scripts.
Mayby it because people are are just plain tired of hearing "DarkRP".
That was pretty much the reason for having them. People were getting tired of Garry's Mod Discussion and Gamemode Releases being full of RP threads. Of course, with the subforums gone, most of the RP threads seem to have left with them...
That's stupid.
My theory is that Garry simply had enough of RP, and so did a lot of other people. Roleplay has been filling up Garry's Mod over the years, and now we see shitty DarkRP edits and ultra-serious servers where they tell you to walk around a city doing nothing everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy serious RP, but there are servers that take it across the limit. From what I can gather, Garry has never really been too fond of RP, and maybe this was his way of limiting it? And as stated above me, it seemed to be quite successful, since most of the RP threads has disappeared now, and no new ones seem to be appearing frequently.
The section was closed due to shit threads I think, and the Garry's Mod roleplay gamemodes situation has been discussed for alot of time, no need to bring it back again Jocken.
Of course it has been discussed in the past, it's discussed everywhere. I was simply making a point.
The threads were annoying, sure. But they got answered and died so quickly again that it was easy to just plain miss them
