So PHX is now part of Garry's mod. Let's bring all the praise/hate here. I love it but some textures are different - look at the ramps and tunnels with the flashing lights. Anyone know why?
so the gmod phx is the same as svn one? i can safely delete it?c: yay for saving space
so the gmod phx is the same as svn one? i can safely delete it?c: yay for saving space
Pretty much.

Anyone know how to use sv_loadingurl? I've tried on my server to no avail.
Hah, I like the new loading screen. Growing watermelons. Plastering walls! PATCHING BROKEN UPDATE! Inflating balloons! Charging toolgun.
I don't like how the update fucked with the skybox in my server map. Not cool update, not cool. [editline]15th December 2010[/editline] I deleted the phx in my server files and also in my gmod folder. I still have double phx model folders once in game. Help?

Help?
Go into the settings/spawnlists folder and delete the PHX spawnlists, if that doesn't work, go into the spawnicons folder and delete the PHX spawn icons. I'm glad this finally got added, saves us from having to add another addon, and helps with all the noobs that would join servers without it.
and helps with all the noobs that would join servers without it.
Everyone who doesn't have PHX to build with is a noob? Oh, how times have changed.
There are some interesting changes to some of the props in terms of materials. The double wheels base as well as some of the track models look different. The original tracks can still be found if you use the browse tab under props_phx -> trains -> tracks.

Yay awesome updates! Can't wait till I'm off grounding :)
Is it just me or is it missing easy precision?
Is it just me or is it missing easy precision?
Only the models were imported and not the stools. If you want the stools you need to move the weapons folder in the Lua folder of the PHX SVN into the lua folder of your garrysmod folder.
what happens if i already have phx do i delete it ?
what happens if i already have phx do i delete it ?
You can delete the SVN but make sure you move the maps and stool lua into the garrysmod folder so you can still use them.
You can delete the SVN but make sure you move the maps and stool lua into the garrysmod folder so you can still use them.
i dont have the svn version just one i downloaded off garrysmod
i dont have the svn version just one i downloaded off garrysmod
...Never....EVER...Download anything off that site!. BEWAER
...Never....EVER...Download anything off that site!. BEWAER
tell me thats a joke right lol OHH noe viruses ahhh....yea ok
It didn't break anything when it launched. I think it requires a lot more praise than you'd expect.
tell me thats a joke right lol OHH noe viruses ahhh....yea ok
He meant, don't download things off that site if there are SVN versions available instead. SVN keeps your addons up-to-date, whereas a gmod.org download gives you a constant static version which you can only update manually. SVN rules. I NOW HAVE TO DOWNLOAD PHX SVN AGAIN JUST TO GET THE STOOLS! That's the only problem I find with the PHX pack, to be honest.
yea but im like noob when it comes to SVN, i dont know how to use it......sad face
So being the neat freak that I am, I tried to merge some of the new phx stuff into one section in my spawn menu so it'd be better organised. I also deleted the 'Sliders' section because I saw no use for it. When I started up Garrys Mod the next time, my merged section was still there, but all the sections I had deleted were back. Is there a way to fix this?

I did that, otherwise my merged section wouldn't have saved.
Anyone know how to use sv_loadingurl? I've tried on my server to no avail.
umm... ill give you mine sv_loadingurl "http://www.solairce.com/menu" http://www.solairce.com/menu Click to view it
Seen the loading screen? Sometimes it says: Delaying Episode 3. WHAT HAVE TO BE A SIGN! Its coming......

[editline]17th December 2010[/editline]
Anyone know how to use sv_loadingurl? I've tried on my server to no avail.
My favourite server has got it working. Just create a webpage and set sv_loadingurl to its URL. When you join the server, that page will show up as the loading screen. I think it's quite clever. The default one is: loading.garrysmod.com

When I delete one of the built in categories (eg. the new 'sliders' category), the category is there again the next time I play Garrys Mod.
