Is it possible to bypass net_maxfilesize? I've got a map that is slightly over 64mb bzip'd, which I'd prefer to have download from the server.
fastdownload?
fastdownload?
Sigh.
I've slept 5 hours. I didn't see he was already using a fastdownload at the first read :( And even less did I remember the 64 concerns even fastdownloads.

No, there is no way beside the fastdownload.
I'm using fastdl and its capped at 64.

What's causing the map to be so large? If you're embedding models and stuff into the map, it might be wiser to take them out and have them separate so you don't hit the limit.
He can't.
as far as i know the net_maxfilesize limit was fucked up and you could set it to whatever you'd like. Valve must have fixed it, if so theres probably no way
He can't.
Excepted theres a program called Pakrat. That allows you to add/remove/edit files that are embed in the map. But that's besides the point.
yea then everybody would have to download the edited version of the map
yea then everybody would have to download the edited version of the map
So what. If his FastDL is on a good backbone and the speed is above 10Mbps then it wouldn't take long to download. (10Mbps = 75MB per minute) And since map downloading is a one time thing, you would never have to download it again!

The only difference is that this just makes it more annoying to clients that have to go and download the map from somewhere else. It should really be raised to like 128 since the age of 256k and dialup being dead.
