Hi, Everytime I go into a map on GMOD, I get these really strange textures. Pics: http://img171.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=gmconstructorange0000.jpg On ImageShack, help appreciated. :D
System Specs?
Let's just say that they're terrible :P 1.60GHz 1.99GB of RAM Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver For Mobile
Any response?
I am no expert but I think those are all way below the minimum requirements, your best guess would be to upgrade your system. If your system is good enough, do you play in windowed or fullscreen? Do you sometimes Alt+Tab out during the loading? If yes, try no to, I get something similar sometimes when I alt+tab out during loading.
Intel GMA cards are not made for gaming. Get a better computer.
Your GPU is choking, I bet your CPU is too. You need a new computer but I suppose you could try
-dxlevel 81
Try a Lower DX Level if that doesn't work you'll need to get an upgrade.
I've been through all that help before. I always keep my launch options set to -dxlevel 81. Don't have the money for an upgrade right now, so getting anything new isn't a possibility. Besides, this is the first time these graphics appeared. It would run ok, albeit really laggy. But just at a stable rate of 20-6fps. Giving me the advice: "Get a new computer" doesn't help at all. Like I said before this is the first time this problem appeared since I started playing GMOD back in April.
Yes, and in the mean time there were several updates, that could push your graphics card out of the range. So now instead asking for a wonder start being realistic and either stop complaining and play or accept that sometimes not everyone has an answer for your question, for that you have religion.
What? So you expect that I check every GMOD update religiously? Besides, I'm not complaining, just looking for an answer. THAT wasn't helping.
I've got this problem too, except it doesn't happen for all my maps. And I dont think its textures either, since the blackness is shadow, shine and flashlight at it and it appears as its normal texture, and you can see the texture through the colours, if you look reasonably closely. My own specs are intel pentium dual cpu e2200ghz, 1.99gb ram
I wonder if they've found a solution...
Try reinstalling Garry's Mod.
Done that, it works now, but I think it's because I put in +forcehardware_sync 0
What makes me wonder is how the gun is still free of anomalies but the map is crapping itself. Then again these kinds of problems make no sense. You have a laptop right? I seen that your graphics chip was "mobile". Laptops can be quite susceptible towards heat, but the strangest issue here is that it looks as if those textures were just replaced. I see your system is quite underpowered, but it still shouldn't create all this mess. Try running other equally demanding games. Also I would suggest getting a temperature monitoring program [speccy or speedfan is what I use], and play for a good while, and see if temperatures are going up to high ranges.
I have a nettop, now I feel embrarassed.... I'll try installing one of those programs, but the textures started warping upon loading up the first map.
I had this problem before. It actually means your CPU or graphics card is dying/overcloaking
Is there anyway to fix it? Or put in a new one? This is my pc: http://www.acer.co.uk/acer/productv.do?LanguageISOCtxParam=en&kcond61e.c2att101=65828&sp=page16e&ctx2.c2att1=17&link=ln438e&CountryISOCtxParam=UK&ctx1g.c2att92=124&ctx1.att21k=1&CRC=3365692782
overcloaking
Intel has cloaking technology?!
Intel has cloaking technology?!
WOW! Where can I get that!? :v: I'd be surprised if they had Orange Box engine support...
Anyways, I've seen several threads about people having texture/stretching issues with Intel Chipsets. Try contacting your computer manufacturer or Intel.
That's pretty much a standard support answer, contact your manufacturer? No thank you...
Hamsteronfire, by rating everyone dumb won't help you. Your PC is really weak and is not strong enough to play games like Garry's Mod. Face the obvious, stop trolling and just get a better computer/deal with it. Your computer is extremely weak and shit, and it's no surprise it is having problems playing games. If you don't have the money for a upgrading your system, we can't help you. We aren't magicians and we can't magically fix your computer.

Wasn't asking people to 'magically fix my computer', I know my pc can't handle shit like this, AND yes I've long ago dealed with it. Besides, I've moved on to Cortex Command, now there's only a shitty dev that stands in my way.
