Hey everyone, I really hate the way the AK-47 and Glock sound in CSS and Garry's Mod, I want to replace the sounds. I looked up how to do it in CSS, but the method of placing the sounds in the folder doesn't seem to work.
Does anyone know how to replace the sounds?

It should be the same, just place the file in the same directory for Gmod as it would be in CSS.
Or have you tried gcfscaping it? (hope i spelt that right..)
Honestly I have no idea how to GCFScape it. I've heard people talking about it, but I don't really know how. I'm not really into replacing things, but the sounds grate on my nerves, so I wanted to do something about them.

Yeah actually i don't think you can upload stuff through gcfscape, all you can do is go through gcfscape and download the sound you think u dont like. Play it and make sure it is the one you don't like, find the sound you do like, make sure it has the [b] VERY SAME NAME[/b] and thats its a wav file ending in .wav and goto your garrysmod/garrysmod/sound and create any files that occur in the counter strike file path and put that sound in there, it may work.
What file do I open with GCFScape?
its in your steamapps i think...Counter-strike source.gcf
Can't you just write a .lua file to replace the sounds or something?

Install that, then open desired cache file, find the sound you want to replace, take note of it's name, and location. Take the sound you want, and navigate to where the sound is located, if the folders do not exist, then create them, then put your new sound there.

I suppose if he's having that much trouble then he can add me on steam and i'll show him how to over teamview. Gets the job done quickly, my steam is accesable via the small steam logo second in from the elft under my avatar.

So you're saying he should take his own time trying to add you via steam friends, download teamviewer, and waste more time on that?
