When i play garrys mod my fps jumps from 300 to 0 very fast. this stop me from moving and sometimes causes me to disconnect.
Has anyone got any ideas? It was wokring fine last night, i tried verifying integrity of game cache as well as running a lua garbage collection script.

Does it do this in all gamemodes/maps or just certain ones? All of a sudden lately certain gamemodes that run maps with water lag like a mother ducker for me so... Yeah.

It's your GPU memory or your RAM. You're hitting the limit and it's causing it to drop whatever is in part of the memory and causing it to reload the data from the harddrive.
computer may be overheating too, take off the side panel and look, there are likely screws at the back for that. You might find tons of dust in there.
