How to set up a private dedicated server

I know this is either late or obvious but...
Me and my friend are trying to set up a private server for just us.
I'm going to set it up.
Few questions.
First, how do I assign the server I purchase to garrys mod?
Can I get all of my dlc to work on my server?
I've looked all over for help, what should I do in my command prompt, if needed?

You're purchasing a server for just two people?

You might want to just [url=http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SRCDS#Setting_up]set up a dedicated[/url] from your own computer with srcds.
