"This account is being used in another location" - Garry's Mod

Whenever I try to join a server with Garry's Mod, it tells me my account is being used in a different location. But what's more weird is that this only happens with Garry's Mod. I can join Team Fortress 2 servers just fine.

I have had this problem before, I even changed my password the first time, but then it did it again. I think it has something to do with if you have used your account on another pc. Mine hasnt done it in a while and it wasnt gmod when it did it, it was css for me.

Close GMod Go to C:/Program Files/Steam/ Delete "clientregistry.blob" Restart Steam Success

Click Sign out, then sign back in, basically validating yourself again by entering your password again.

Make sure you got your username right. Remember, it's the username you signed up with, not your current display name.

I know what the problem is This is also happening to me. 1. There is some bug that causes steam to think you log on to your account in 2 places at once. Steam support does not believe this is a bug (I contacted them thrice, they keep telling me to change my password, thus it's not helping [I hate you Steam Support]). 2. There is a workaround, though it does not help you permanently, but it doesn't matter if you only use steam on a single PC. The workaround comes here. This may sound weird, but Steam says someone has your password. You decide to change it, and join the server again. Didn't work. You tell them, and they do not answer. You begin looking the internet but find nothing, and think, perhaps a password reset will pull me out of the bug? You log out of Steam, click "I forgot my password" and enter your e-mail adress and account name. This is the weird part. Ignore the verification code and the e-mail and press cancel. Login again and this bug occurs on any other computer than this one. You didn't even change your password. When you do this on another computer, you will only be able to play online on that given computer, until you do this on another etc. This is annoying as hell when you got 2 computers and play on the laptop every 3rd day and the stationary all other days. Having to reset your password (Sort of) 6 times a week. I'm about to record a video of the EXACT problem and send a new support ticket. The other one seems pretty abandoned. Thank you god for sending me a person who understands the problem! EDIT: What I know of the passphrase they reset to was the secret answer you used before :) NOTE: This bug goes for all HL mods. Not the games themselves for some reason?

Does look like it was stolen yes

Just send in a support ticket, proving u own the account with game receipts, transactions, CD Codes. Then you will get it back next day.

You probably got your account stolen, same thing happened to me awhile back

Alright, I contacted support, waiting for a reply back. I don't see how it was hacked. The last time it was online was when I was using it, so that's strange.
