• Dedicated server refusing people to connect

I have made my dedicated server and have it set up on my computer, but I see people trying to join all the time only to be refuted my this message Client "name" connected (00.00.00.00:00000). Dropped name from server (This Steam account does not own this game. Please login to the correct Steam account) Whats going on? To make things even more interesting, my friend living several dozen miles away can join just fine.
It tells you quite clearly they don't own the game ie. pirated gmod thus they can't join a VAC enabled server. You can put -insecure on the server start line to disable this at the risk of your server.

You're both right. It does that when VAC tries to talk to the Steam client on the user's computer and can't do it. If VAC can't talk to the Steam client, then either: - It's not there (and therefore GMod is pirated) - It's being dumb (and therefore needs restarted)
It has nothing to do with vac if you turn vac off on your server people with pirated gmod will still be disconnected
