Ok so here's the plan.
You are in a map with a large ring and pit-zone's and stuff.
You have about 5 minutes build phase to work on your car and after that time,
gates open in your pit and you move into the ring.
Next combat phase begins for about 3 minutes.The objective is to destroy the opponent's (breakable?) car.Then you are allowed to repair/upgrade your car after the round.
There will be 5 rounds and the one with the most points (earn points by hitting the car, possible with lua?) wins the game.
Also, another idea is that you can get [b]SPECIAL[/b] upgrades for your car when you get so many points and stuff.Your car can also be saved so next time you join the same server, your car can be loaded so you don't have to keep rebuilding it.
Gothic-child thought of the original idea, I just added some things to make it much more fun :D
If this becomes successful, I could probably make some maps :)
Lol it's GothicChild, i just suggested that he should try and make a destruction derby map were people can make cars then fight with them then we cam up with the fort wars like gamplay :D i would to see this thing actually being put together it would be so awesume :D

You could just use the advanced duplicator for the saving, and then everything else really sounds alot like the wood wars basic gamemode. Build, then combat, then fix/build. It is also alot like fort wars.
I don't mean use gmod tools, I mean use Lua to make it a full gamemode
Why make a whole new gamemode for something you can easily do with a gamemode already out?

Yes still we would need a lua script counting how many props we broke and a map that opens/closes gates after a certain time...
My suggestions:
Set a maximum amount of props.
The building phase is limited to a small area, like a garage, this is so the player is forced to keep the prop's size down.
ANY prop can be used .ALL props get the same health. Props only become damageable in the combat phase.
Using less props means your opponent will get less points for killing you, but you'll die faster. Using more makes you harder to kill, but your opponent can get more points.
Players gradually unlock new weapons, either automtically, or trough a purchase system. These new weapons would be in the form of SENTS, that would spawn in the player's garage, and that the player could weld to their car.
Saving cars is a bad idea, specially using the Advanced Duplicator. This would completely ruin the fun of the build phase.
