Update 86 has just been released which, for me, has fixed all issues that came along with update 85. This included not being able to join servers. I would recieve a "hl2.exe has stopped working" error.
People still need to restart and update there servers first. Then you might not get this issue.
Yes, for sure. I have done both on the server I work on. I, along with a couple of others joined successfully.
Our community's server still won't start up, even after this update.

Like Garry said. Has to be an addon problem.
Don't see how it could be. I removed our admin mod and that didn't do it and everything else we have is required such as sourcemod, metamod, counter-strike, portal, dod, and derma.

How the fuck do you update?! Ive restarted steam and I still cant update...
steam is supposed to auto update when you restart steam, if it dosen't then you may have auto update turned off. go into steam properties and click the check for updates. If its auto updated worst case turn off your PC and cold boot it (pray it starts back up LOL J/K)
You would be surprised at how much a cold boot will free up resources also lol

Ok, I know I have autoupdate on. So... Just restart my computer?
I still get hl2.exe has stopped working when I join a server or play single player.....
its created more isues then it solves
