GMod crashes or even BSoD's whenever an explosive barrel detonates. When I ignite it, the fire isn't shown and then GMod crashes. If I shoot it with a gun, then I get the BSoD. Can someone help me out?
Also, if you need/would like my computer's specs, could you tell me how to find them out?
EDIT: Also, I have an Intel graphics card, if that helps. (It probably does; HL2-engine games hate Intel graphics cards ._.)
To get system specs use Speccy.

And this is probably the source of your problem
Okay then, but I would also like a fix. I still want to play GMod. ._.
Yeah I got the same exact problem as you, I get crashes on body gibs (dismemberment mod) also my game only crashes when hl2 barrels are exploded, nukes and helicopter bombs do not crash my cpu.
You can disable particle effects with the command r_drawparticles 0 in the console (I reccomend putting it in the autoexec file, but you have to ask someone else about that). This will disable ALL special effects, that's fire, blood, explosions, dust, sparks, splashes etc. For a more permanant solution you need a graphics card made with 3d graphics as a priority. An intel card will simply not cut the mustard. The nVidia 8xxx series are cheap and will perform well enough.[URL="http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/index.php?title=R_drawparticles&action=edit&redlink=1"]

Isn't the answer quite simple, just don't explode any barrels. Usually barrels are only used by minges on sandbox servers anyway.

Works perfectly, thank you

Yes, but I would like a better solution. I used to be able to play GMod without this problem, explosions giving no problem, but now this problem has come into play.
I think there should be a solution. I'll use this temporary fix in the meantime. ._.
Yeah before the driver did not have ipgpdx32dll, the new drivers have it
GreenGhost, your graphics card is too basic for source 2007 particle effects, the only permanant solution is a decent graphics card.

You probably have an Intel GMA or something. That's not even a graphics card. It's onboard with prolly like, 64MB of RAM. Any game but flatout 2 and GTA game's San Andreas and Under hates Intel onboard GPU's
Save up a good $40 and get a geforce 8400gs if you are in dier need of improvement over onboard.

I am using, believe it or not, an iMac running Windows, so the Graphics Card probably can't be replaced. ._.
Plus, I can't turn particles off in Multiplayer, and I crashed because of it. >_<
I'm going to try to turn it off beforehand, and see if that works.
