How do I install maps to Gmod while using steam

I need to install some new maps to play online because for some reason it doesn't install them automatically anymore... please help me

2. Extract/copy-past maps to the maps folder of the Garry's Mod folder
3. ???
4. profit.

Go to My Computer>C drive>Program Files>Steam>Steamapps>(your user name)>Garrysmod>garrysmod. Then put the .bsp files inside the "maps" folder inside the second garrysmod folder.

That's assuming that he installed to that exact directory.

Alot of maps have more than just the .bsp file. Where do I put all the other files?

Bah, usually the same directory unless it's textures or models or something.

Try opening the console and typing "cl_downloadfilter all"
Should fix your download problem

I tried putting map in that directory, but it don't work. It might be because I'm just extracting using winRAR. I don't know though. Please help

Not really.
Are you putting a folder in the maps folder?
If you did, then copy the map from that folder and paste it in maps.

People pack maps like morons. I cannot believe gmod has been out this long without someone coming up with universal install program which makes sure rubbish info doesn't ruin content like it always does.
