It seems whenever I load too many materials in garry's mod, my game crashes.
Any help?

Do you have an addon that loads a lot of materials?
On my old computer it would freeze for about 20 seconds and then come back with all the materials loaded. If I clicked when it was freezing it would come up with the "not responding" window but not crash. Just try waiting for a bit
Loading materials in material stool or creating spawnicons for the first time loads them into RAM. When you ram is at 100% and you load one more texture = BAM. Maybe ram broken?/too small?
