Ok, I'll keep it short and simple. Whenever I press the 'voice communication' key, or the HLDJ activate key, the little box that shows who's talking doesn't appear and the sound doesn't come out. I've tried reinstalling gmod and restarting steam.
Also, I recently found out it doesn't work for other Steam games either.
Please help.
Ok this is a common issue I find it troubled me allot on different computers the best and simplest solution is to download the latest and compatible version for your version of windows, Realtek sound drivers. It a driver system that is compatible with every mic and every computer. It makes sound issues just disappear and makes handling audio on your computer simple, but it can get advanced if you wish. Or maybe your mic broke...
try recording your mic with the awesome tools windows gave us.
Start > All programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound recorder
I thought Garry disabled 3rd party app.s using the VOIP system, so HLDJ wouldn't work anyway.

Which is what I said....
I've seen other people using HLDJ and HLSS, and it's not just that, my normal microphone isn't working either. When I press the button the box with my name doesn't pop up.
