I was wondering what are some good/recommended plugins to use on a TTT gmod server.
Jihad bomb and Golden gun IMO, point shops are dumb, don't use them.
I disagree on the golden gun; it's quite a hoot when it comes to RDM. The Jihad bomb can also be troublesome on small maps, and just assure an easy win for traitors. I recommend you to invest in making your own shop and not just using pointshop. Just look on the workshop for some addons and guns that you could add for traitors and detectives.
Good traitor weapons: Cannibal knife, Explosive crossbow, Combine Headcrab Pod and sentry gun, some sniper rifle I suppose, then Normal knife for instant kill on wounded ppl, and instant kill on throw. (1% of servs actually have this)
And the usual stuff like armor, radar, flare gun, trip wires, C4, jihad, teleporters etc.
Good maps are pretty much every TTT map with dolls excluded, and MAYBE cs_militia but you have CS for those.
As for pointshop, just don't have too much crap in it. Models and stuff from HL2 are fine really. TTT is purely a casual game so some variety in player models is in question. But trails, too cheap T-rounds and sonic models really ruin it sometimes.

i have a very good TTT with lots of custom equipment, i can help you if you want, just send me a message of your steam name, but i am busy setting up the "stop it slender" servers
If I were you, I'd actually take a look on Facepunch/Google/Steam Workshop and find what suits you personally, as opposed to us just telling you.
TTT servers often look really tacky when the owner just slaps on as much public custom stuff as they can, so find the right balance of things you like and work.

I forgot the plugin name, but it's very handy for ending RDMING disputes. As soon as you are killed, it shows by who, and if they were an Inno/Traitor/Detective

It's believe called ttt_killmsg. You can also get the RDM reporter to handle RDMs and make it easy for you and staff

It's a little hard to put my finger EXACTLY on why I don't like this, but it kind of throws players into a bad attitude is the best I can put it. As in, it leads to pointless fights.

As long as there's content it's usually considered fine. "I need help but I won't tell how" isn't really content though in reference to the other guy.
Using PS isn't bad. I use it strictly for masks, which is basically just an image in front of your face other's can see. It's not very noticeable so it doesn't really make you an individual which is bad in TTT. If everyone looks different you can just be like "KOS BREEN" for example... just try avoiding everyone being too different when it comes to PS.
If you want to be different, you can try a themed TTT server. I saw one in the Games in Progress section that was an [URL="http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1373797"]Anime TTT server[/URL]. Looked pretty interesting.

My server I was given to run is pretty public CH shit becuase tbh I dont care but it seems players dont mind what you put on, as long as your admins and you arent douchebags.
Keep it utility wise. you dont need 700000 traitor weapons. maybe a kill feed, something to pass time in spec, something interesting. Oddly enough my favorite is end round music, but thats because i like music so who knows
do what you find fun
