Hey, I am currently debating between the server hosts of Xenon (seems very popular around here) and Ultimategameservers [url]http://www.ultimategameserver.com/[/url] since they are both in my budget.
Xenon is a few bucks more expensive, so I am leaning towards UGS, but has anyone here ever rented a GMOD server from them?

brohoster is out of my budget, I only need 4-6 slots.
Xenon offered me a deal and UGS is cheap.
I've never really heard much about UGS but I run Brohoster so obviously I'm going to say Brohoster.
But, if you're deciding between Xenon and UGS go with Xenon, it's run and staffed by people who have been playing and developing for GMOD for years (so is Brohoster :v:)
I've noticed that UGS's servers are only 66 tick while Xenon's are 100 tick. Does it make a difference for GMOD even if I have such a little number of slots?
However, the bad thing about Xenon is that their only location is in Dallas while I am in the Los Angeles area
They're actually in Kansas. You generally don't want 100 tick because it allows less props before the server starts lagging, but they don't do it by default (it's on request)

It won't make a large difference

Are you sure Kansas, that would be even worse than Dallas in terms of latency for me.
On the order page it says the location is Dallas

it doesn't matter, your still going to get a very good connection.
They havn't updated the order page....
ultimategameservers suck balls. I've had them about a year ago and my css server lagged when I have about 10 players on my 32 slot server (Pub, no mods). I can't really say anything about their gmod servers though.

Well I think that I would ping higher to a Kansas server than a server based in LA, but I think I'll shall request a test ip from each company and see how I ping.
Unless any of you already have a Xenon server for me to ping?

He's asking about two GSPs, so I put mine into the hat as well as giving him my opinion on the two he was asking about. He obviously didn't have a problem with it, so get your panties out of a bunch.

Bb servers only offers 10 slot mins so 10 bucks is out of what I would like to spend, same thing with brohoster, that's why I left those choices out. I emailed xenon ad they said they could sell me a 4 slotted. But ATM I am leaning towards NuclearFallout, they seem to be nice and know a lot about GMOD
Anyone using 100 tick on GMod is either running a 15 slot PVP server, or an idiot.
33 tick is best for large servers, or servers with lots of props, of which the criteria matches most GMod servers.

They do not host Garry's Mod servers I believe. If you want a server host (for Garry's Mod of course), I would go with Brohoster or ServerFFS.

I'd rather just rent a 4 slot server as I tried hosting one and it was laggy as hell.
I had colo with UGS, and the support was TERRIBLE. It would take days to get a single response from them, and they cancelled my service without prior warning. I've used Xenon before and I had no issues with them.

Very very bad quality of a server if you ask me.
I had a 12 slot gmod server. that was the worst.
