So yeah, Uh. My steam asploded or something and I had to re-downloaded all of my games, Everything works fine, except Garry's mod. Everything is gone, As in. No addons or models or Lua scripts, Its like I just bought it again. But when I look into my addons folder everything is there. I don't know what to do.

*Sigh* If you uninstall a game, and the core files are deleted, why the fuck would your addons still be there? By the way " my steam asploded or somthing" isnt a valid description. Your going to have to re-install all addons.

I think all these stupid help threads is going to give me permenent brain damage.

I think your shitty advice is giving me brain damage too. Simply "reinstalling it" Didn't do anything. Same with "redownloading" the addons. I honestly don't know whats going on and I don't need your horrible advice if it isn't right.

What program are you using with the zip files, what folders are you extracting to, if nothing works un-install gmod, then goto your gmod folder (C/programfiles/steam/steamapps/-youraccountname-/garrysmod) and delete everything (dont forget to empty the trash bin) then re-install, and try downloading again.

And dont say straight away "I allready reinstalled the game!" becuase when you un-install a game it doesnt delete the game file folders in the program files.

Program is Winrar.

Folders for addons are

/-youraccountname-/garrysmod/garrysmod/addons

Simple. Un-installed, Reinstalled, Extracted everything back to its original place. nothing. I tryed what you said.

You cant just un-install and re-install.

I said- Un-install, delete your gmod folders, then install.

An un-install than re-install WILL NOT WORK!

You HAVE to delete all the gmod folders on your computer.

And that should fix your problem.

Extracted everything back to its original place...
AFTER deleting it.

Dont extract anything back to original place.

Go into steam, select gmod then click delete local content

Delete garrysmod files in steam directory in the C: Drive

Go to recycling bin - empty it

Goto steam

Click gmod

Click install

Wait for the game to install

Play it.

And thats it. Why would you delete damadged files just to put the same damaged files back later?

DO NOT EXTRACT ANY FILES
