Im interested in making a server but I dont know what host to use, I was looking at NFO servers, but it costs quite a bit. So what host would you suggest???
Imo NFO is worth it. You get a ton of stuff for the price, plus nice fast support, which is more than most of the hosts out there today.
How many slots would you suggest I get?
I would suggest ElpisHost it's pretty affordable, has great support, and is easy to use and manage. If you use 15OFF at checkout you get 15% off your first month.
I have also heard great things about NFO but tbh I've never used it.
As for the slots question it would depend on what gamemode you're running :P

How much ram do you suggest, skatehawk? And whats a VPS?
Afaik ram isn't a big deal for srcds, so you won't need more than a couple gigs. And a VPS is a [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_private_server"]Virtual Private Server[/URL]

You can get cheaper but NFO is probably your best bet for starting off.
Definitely go with NFO. Great servers and I've had little issues with them (other than me being too stupid for things). They'll help you out fast and the price IMO is worth it (I was paying 30$/mo and they changed it to 27$/mo w/o telling me :c that's about the only downside). They're great for beginners and everything is simple.

SRCDS doesn't use more than 700 MB RAM (as preached by a lot of people here on Facepunch). So if your processor handles it well, you can run 6, at least.
