How can you get rid of jobs in RP but not use a stat leveling system? I am trying to figure out a system to where players are not limited to the jobs that are provided and there is not some stat leveling system. I do not like stat leveling systems because even though they allow for the player to make their own customized player, it draws players away from other jobs. Like most of the population would want to be a criminal or a cop and I would like to give them some incentive to be other things. If you have any ideas or thoughts on the situation post below.
I had an idea a while back for something like this. When you join the server, it would display a menu. You would be able to pick a playermodel and job title, and then go to a menu that allows you to branch out into different jobs. You would start off with say 10 points, and choose a base job. Like government, criminal or a salesman. They would take 6 points to choose, so you cant select multiple. They would then branch out into different things, the salesman would branch out into things like heavy weapons, light weapons, beer and other things. Government could go maybe police and senator, which could then go to mayor.
I've gone with an organizations system. Public organizations are created by the server owner and have a "class". By default there is a government organization, a policing one, a fire department, etc. Then players create private organizations (companies, charaties, etc) in-game and the others can join those, get promoted, fired, invite others, vote others out, have salaries, etc. The organizations don't stick around with the server because due to enforced NLR, you get a new RP name when you die anyway.
