My friends mic stops working after he joins a server.

Hey, me and my friend play Gmod alot, and I thought, why not use Skype to talk while ingame. So we did, we started a Skype call, everything was right, but, then he joined a server, and suddenly his mic stopped working, anyone know how to fix this?
