ive had gmod on steam for a few years now and ever since i got my nvidia gforce 9800gt graphics card gmod hasnt worked, when ever i start up gmod it shows the loading screen with the male citizen standing etc. and after a bit of loading the screen goes black and shows a "no signal" error on the monitor.wierd thing tho after a few months of that i started up gmod to see if it would work and it did work just fine .then 2 months after that gmod started to do the same crash again and has ever since.ive already done updates for my graphics card drivers and all that but gmod still wont work while all my other source games work like CSS,DOD:s,half-life 2. my system specs are: nvidia geforce 9800gt graphics card 1024mb 185 free gigs of space left the actual pc is inspiron 530s and good ol' vista any help would be nice and yes ive tried the directx81 thing too.

It sounds like GMod is trying to use a resolution your monitor doesn't support (although that would usually give an out of range error).
ive updated the graphics card and anything related to that. 2gb ram nvidia geforce 9800gt dell inspiron 530s vista and the processor is what ever comes stock with the computer also no other changes

Is your graphics card's fan/other cooling device working properly?
