Need some tips and help! - Garry's Mod

Hello all, im thinking of starting a ww2 serious military rp server and need some help with the technical shit. First, im in the need of a really good server host for garry's mod (non-dedicated of course). 30 slots will do (for a good price that is). Please dont fucking rant at me for being a noob cause im really tired right now. I need a host with good mod support and a really simple UI like TCAdmin or something simple for first time hosts. It would be good if the servers are avaliable to UK, Europe and U.S. while AU not so much...(sorry ausies). Second, I need a good script. I dont plan on making my own gamemode. Tacocript classic sounds the best so far but if you disagree and know a better one, say so below. THIS SERVER ISNT A F****** DARKRP SERVER, so dont mention darkrp below you greasy tool. Mods I need, but many mods will be many mods. Post below about some mods that you think will enhance the game experience. Third, tell me any other shit I need know, but something you should know, this isnt a darkrp server, its a serious military rp server that is admin-dependent. I have many ideas so far but maybe too much for all of them to be incorporated into the server. And I do not care if you have the Chineese Army to be your admins, it will leave a lot of holes. Make it admin independent. 2. Don't make a military RP. So many have tried before and it all boils down ot the same thing. - Sit bored - Get more bored - Admin comes on - Wait for him to setup event - Wait more - Wait...... - Shoot a bunch of NPCs and "epicly" dodge bullets - Wait - Realize you're far better off playing another game for this kind of action and leave.

I think your really retarded because you think that you need to be on the server when its passive time. And youve never been on a military server since you clearly dont know what their about and what happens on them. There is a really good serious military rp server that inspired me to make mine that has over 300 members and a strong community that will last untill Monkey and Wolly's death. You should be informed before you say things that you clearly dont know about. And what you think what you said is smart is really stupid because youve been saying it many times now and telling me to not make the server will only make me wanna host the server more. Bye!

What about DarkRP? That seems like a good gamemode for military RP. They make you buy your own gun in the military, don't they?

No, Ive seen it, played on it, asked admins about it, downloaded it, shat on it, and deleted it. Its not for serious RP. This server is military and serious, not only military and not only serious. Its not HL2RP either.

You have no server hosting experience and you want to host one of the hardest gamemodes to host, open your eyes, out here in the real world where people can accept advice you actually have to get some hosting experience before you go and try to build a huge community. Its like building a house without a foundation, its going to fail, and in this case, your trying to make the house out of mud and its raining. The moral of the story is: When someone gives you good advice and has more experience than you, its better to piss off rather than retort like an angry thirdgrader.

Wow, for once I'm agreeing with NutNuts, Military RPs just aren't fun. No one is going to play it because of the many other RPs that don't require admins on to play it.

I know that I have no experience so its gonna be challenging. Im raging because every second poster tells me to not make the server...And I have talked to many server hosters on steam who say that I shouldnt make it. I will make it...and im asking for some help with a script and all everyone can do is call me a pissed off third grader, butthurt and other shit. Do you know see why im raging. And buts has been posting on all of my topics and shitting on them, telling me that admin-dependency is gay and whatnot. Im sorry for insulting anyone, I just want some help with choosing the right script and not help with demoralising me

Go play DoD:S then, the server would be a much more boring version of that, which much more waiting. Only a very experienced person, with a development team can make a [I]decent[/I] military gamemode.
