Sudden Lag - Garry's Mod - Facepunch Forum

I haven't played gmod in a few months, and back then I was getting very good fps, which is expected with my laptop specs (i7, 8gb ram, gtx 760m). Now after updating my game and my private server, when I play I get very low fps (around 30) and it just feels so crap to play and is not what it used to be. Anyone else having this or is it just my rotten luck :(

Try uninstalling a ton of useless addons, workshop mainly and remove all maps in map folder. Should clear up some lag and you might want to set launch options to say -dxlevel 90 for better performance!

and clear your Lua cache ;)

Sorry to bring this thread up again, but the problem hasn't gone. I'm still getting very low stutter fps at around 30. The thing is that is playable, but its when I shoot a gun or a barrel it will drop to like 17 for a second and then pop back up again. I do run a private server off my laptop, and it has a lot of addons, but I never got this problem prior to the last few updates.

depends on the laptop specs, it always can change, specially with alot of addons.

What about your internet connection?
