Somebody accidentally wiped its database.
Stop creating threads about it, thanks.
rip in pepperoni
Wow, that must be some chunk of content that is lost.
You mean they didn't even keep backups? Wow.
how does someone accidentally wipes an entire database of a damn page?
all the shit that's been there its lost forever now. we could at least get a response from garry?
Oh wow, so many good memories about that site, never thought it's still alive. Is there any particular reason to use it instead of Steam Workshop?

I've done it. Twice :v:
Workshop exists for a reason, guys.
Garrysmod.org was bound to be shut down, accidentally or not.

While this is true, we did just lose a whole chunk of old scripts just begging to be fixed up. Not to mention the maps, models, game modes, etc. though most of those were uploaded on workshop.

Yeah, its known that gmod.org was gonna be shut down at some point. but dude, not even a heads up of WHEN it was gonna happen? Like tell people a week before that it's going to be taken down, so people could take the goods from it?
That's just silly. Now all the content there it's just lost, and only a few things are in the workshop.
Thanks for the confirmation, I'll lock the other threads.
Well, there goes a whole lot of Garry's mod history that couldn't be found anywhere else... And the christmas maps I was looking for
Damn
Is there any cached version of the site?
If not, is there a secure location where we can upload old files.
I probably have about 5 GB of addons that I downloaded since 2009. Chances are with enough people on the site, we could recompile most of the files.
Edit: Scratch that. I have almost 19 GB of models, maps, etc.
rip fix this addon threads
Wasnt there another website with gmod.org content for people who didn't own the game on steam?

It's not just the fact that it was shutdown...it's that it was gone in an instant. You'd think at the very least, if it was shutdown intentionally, we'd get a warning ahead of time so we could download all the shit we might need.
Wow that's sad. So many memories of the awesome addons that were on that site. Surprised we didn't get a heads up at least.
What about all the files? Don't tell me they were stored as BLOB or whatever... If the files are still there, someone could set up an archive.

Heads up everybody, I'm going to accidentally delete everything :suicide:
If the site had a backup, the operator should be able to restore the site from latest one.
the files are still there tho right
Goodnight, Sweet Prince.

can i blame cloudflare?
CONSPIRACY!
well at least it was only an accident.
this reminds me of the story when the Kerbal Space Program developers had a mod website very similar to garrysmod.org but after a year or so they upgraded to a Curse.com mod database and the day they opened the new site they DELETED THE OLD MOD WEBSITE ON PURPOSE WITH NO BACKUPS ON SHORT NOTICE. so much shit was lost.
fuck squad.
Rip 90% of gmods good maps and models.
Rest in peace the crappy mat_fullbright maps I made in 2007.
Guys, it wasn't me, I don't have any access to any Facepunch servers whatsoever. :v:
