Are there populated DarkRP servers that do not require you to pay to acces the E2 tool?

I've been looking around a little. Trying to find a darkRP server where the e2 tool is actually free for everyone to use. Me and my friend used to play a lot of DarkRP with automatic gunshops and stuff and we want to relive the thrill but I can't find one single decend server that isn't out for your money. Do any of you know one?
Have you tried to search [B]E2[/B] in the DarkRP list? :cool:

As an owner of a server who has E2 behind a paywall, sadly its not because were out for your money but about 90% of people who use the tool [B]WILL [/B]use it maliciously. Its a shame really as its a fun tool, but we have the paywall there as a sign of trust you won't abuse it :(

Yes I did, and I joined a couple servers. They all asked me to pay 5 euros or more to get acces to the tool.

I kinda get that yes. But why not let everyone have a chance at it without them requiring to pay? Make people apply for the rights to use it for example. Or have a time based rank which awards people with the E2 tool upon reaching a given amount of gametime.
Its so sad that that beautiful roleplay aspect is being taken away from people that don't want to spend any more money on a game they already bought.

Hi. My server's still in development and is in no way populated, but I do plan on giving players access to E2 after they've had 4 hours of gameplay.
Sonador's server did that perfectly by disabling the potentially malicious extensions. Ask the owner of a decent server with wire to do so.

Used to run DarkRP which was pretty successful. As other people who run DarkRP said it's not usable for everyone because of malicious reasons. There is exploits with it. Any server owner with a brain wouldn't allow it to be used for just anyone.

What are you afraid of? If you're being restrictive wirh the functions you allow it shouldn't be an issue.

Being restrictive is all good, but you have to make it REALLY REALLY restricted. The problem is, you can have an unrestricted E2 tool for donators, or a heavily restricted tool for everyone where there is still a higher risk of it somehow being abused or causing problems.

When all the mingy extensions are disabled, there is ZERO risk. Allowing donators to have unlimited access has a higher potential of causing problems due to:
a) the fact that they have the ability to minge with E2 (while regular users don't)
b) the fact that some donators think they're above the rules because they gave you money
You stated that you lock E2 behind a paywall, so I'm going to assume you're somewhat successful with it... however if one of your donators wants to minge, they can do so freely. Who knows, perhaps it already happened behind your back. It's not hard to make an E2 script to block any bullets fired your way and unless your admins are malicious pieces of shit that steal E2s it's hard to detect.

That requires knowledge of lua, which 85% of the darkRP server owners out there know nothing about.

What is it? Also what are some of the malicious e2/wiremod extensions?
I haven't dabbled in this shit in years.
wire_expression2_extensions lists all the avalible extensions and their status (on/off).
wire_expression2_extension_enable or wire_expression2_extension_disable are... well, obvious.
Ones you should think about disabling:
holo (allows E2 to make clientside models, can be used to make mass blinders which are the most common minge E2s)
pac (pac shouldn't be on a darkrp server in the first place, but this extension allows E2 to fuck around with it which could be used to make limited blinders)
sound (players should use the entity instead, this allows you to play sounds anywhere and produce massive amounts of ear raep)
propcore (the biggest minge potential of them all, allows E2 to teleport shit around, spawn props, blow up explosive props etc etc look it's fuckin mingy alright)
http (matter of personal preference, if you don't want random web requests disable tho it's pretty harmless)

You might want to turn off console as well, it lets E2 run console commands on its owner. Seems harmless but can be used to make triggerbots and shit

What this guy said, however I have one quip about your hologram knowledge, they aren't actually client-sided, they are a server-sided entity and can be detected with a console command: wire_holograms_display_owners
I do agree they should be disabled though.
Another thing tons of DarkRP servers do is install wiremod and then restrict half the things that are harmless. (Numpad inputs, seriously? I can just use the FadeActive output on fading doors.) CD reader/disk, CPU/GPU, Satellite dish, I could gush about how many server owners are lazy fucks and just restrict without even looking at what the shit does.
Now people will probably think I'm a piece of shit but any DarkRP server I see that is lazy, has "donations" for perks ****JOBS**** out the wazoo, and some very nice things they think won't be abused, I will not hesitate to exploit/mess around with.
EDIT: Sorry, got a bit carried away in my dislike for DarkRP. (I mean it's community of course.)
