Im currently making a pvp gamemode and I need weapons ideas. I'm planning on making around 100 different custom weapons. The idea is to have around 10 stock weapons and each one of them are going to have around 10 replacement weapons you can unlock which are going to have negative and positive bonuses, much like in TF2.
I will add all good suggestions to the list. :)

Semi-Automatic Rifle (Such as the M1)
Self-loading rifle(An example of this is the FAL-A vietnam-war popular)
Automatic Rifle (Sadly all i can think of is another WWII weapon as a example, BAR)
I suggest these can come after the previous weapon of right after thier non-scoped variants:
Bolt-action scope (Many old and modern time examples)
Semi scope (^)
Any further suggestions:
Anti-tank Rifle (High caliber/power, popular WWII Russian firearms)
Anti-material rifles (Modern day version^)
Railgun / Guass cannon
I hope this is of any help, i didnt know if you actually wanted real names of any weapons of these weapons so i leave the stage open

Btw Gauss cannon was 11/10 idea.
How about a McCree-style Peacekeeper? It's just your normal revolver but you can hit people with right click (very close melee range only) in order to stun them for half a second and head shot them. As in Overwatch that would be good against people who flank in any way or as back-stab move. Just an idea.
I think a crossbow is a great replacement option for the Sniper Rifle. Maybe have something like a Laser Rifle as well? I'm thinking about something Halo-like (or any Sci-Fi FPS if you want) but i don't know what style you're going for.
For melee weapons i suggest Katanas, Daggers, Knives, Hammers, Axes, Bats and maybe some silly things like idk an Anchor or Anvil that you can throw in melee range on people for one time big damage with some start up time.
SMGs are the hardest to come up with good creative alternatives. How about a cherry pit spitter? Shoots hard charry stones rapidly with less damage than the SMG but with knockback. I bet there are is a lot of design potential. I have to say though that knockback only makes sense if your maps contain pits and environmental hazards.
We definitely need more info about your game mode. Will it be team based or all-vs-all? Because if it's team based you could have weapons that syngerize with each other. Imagine a weak SMG that becomes stronger for the amount of people on your team who also buy that weapon. Depending on the quality of implementation that could allow for tactical weapon purchases / upgrades and counter strategys.
Id rather not have a normal revolver with melee built in.
I thought that too, sniper rifles are just way too op if the user can actually use one properly.
Crossbows and laser rifles/railguns will be added eventually.
The style I am going for goes from stoneage to future. Im making different rarities, (Stock,Common,Uncommon,Rare,Epic,Legendary,Mythical) in which Stock will look close to a homemade weapon and mythical will look like some outer space crazy combine weapon of some sort.
I will most likely add most if not all of those suggested melee weapons.
SMGs will be quite fun to make tho, customizing the secondary bomb they have and using other things like a shockwave bomb, napalm bomb etc.
The gamemode currently isnt a completely finished idea but right now im going for a capture-the-point 2-teams style.

Number 2: Here's my suggestions...
- Insta-Kill Homing Roller Mine SMG (jk)
- Grenade Crossbow (projectile moves swiftly and for quite a distance and detonates on contact, hit area is slightly below user's crosshair)
- Poison-bulleted Pistol (you can probabaly set half-second intervals for a period of 5 seconds to damage the target, not too much because then it would be OP as heck, especially because the impact damage of a bullet is allready high, you can probabaly lower that actually...)
- Headcrab RPG (they won't come out as fast or go nearly as far but do quite some damage but will only live for a little bit.)
- Bombs:
- Radial Gravity Bomb (I cant remember where I saw this before but for a short time it attracts entities nearby to the bomb, idk its stupid)
- Sticky Bomb (Generic, and sometimes OP, but lets be honest who can actually land those things well? I've played demoman in TF2 and well damn.)

Im not really good at this but this is some of my suggestion
-Lemat revolver (Press alt fire to shoot shotgun pellet)
-Lever action rifle with its sawed off variant
-Battle axe (Hit wide area in front of you but its heavy and cumbersome,alt fire will perform slower overhead chop which instantly kill your enemies)
-Rubber grenade (Bounce off from surfaces before exploding)
