[release]What is it? Aeolus is a widget system. The widget system allows you to customize your HUD exactly to your liking in a simple GUI, so basically anyone can use it easily. You select which widgets you want via the Q menu and you can then move them around by holding C ( Or any other button that displays the mouse ) and dragging the widget to where you wish it to be. You may click the red circle to close that widget ( It is re-openable via the Q menu ). [/release] [release]Cool, what widgets come with it?

12 Hour Digital Clock
24 Hour Digital Clock
Ammo Ball
Analog Clock
Armor Ball
Balloon Meter
Compass
Digital Speedometer (KMPH)
Digital Speedometer (MPH)
Distance Traveled (KM)
Distance Traveled (Miles)
Dynamite Meter
Entity Information
Health Bar
Hoverball Meter
Info Ball
Speedometer (KMPH)
Speedometer (MPH)
Ping Bars
Ping Meter
Primary Ammo Bar
Prop Meter
Secondary Ammo Bar
SENT Meter
Server Information
Session Time
Team Information
Thruster Meter
Total In-Game Time
[/release] [release]Can I make my own widgets? Yes, the widgets are very easily made. You can view all of the current widgets in Addons/Aeolus/lua/Aeolus/widgets/*.lua [/release] [release]What does it look like? [/release] [release]What if I want to take pictures? How can I temporarily disable Aeolus? There is an easily accessable "Toggle Aeolus" option in the Q menu under options. [/release] [release]Where can I download it? [/release] [release]Why are my <meter type> meter is not showing unless I spawn some props first? The meters simply count the number of <meter type>s on the map owned by every player and uses the highest count owned by any one player as the maximum. There may be a better way, but this was made in Feb., so the functions used are a bit outdated. You are now THE official shit. :D
:v: Bad timing, I know.
This looks really nice. I wonder how long it will take till someone makes a radar for it :v:
nice
Too bad you guys can't revert back a version of Gmod. My friend told me in chat about the evil update, and I disabled auto updates.
This looks really nice. I wonder how long it will take till someone makes a radar for it :v:
I was gonna but I got distracted by a lot of shit and nearly dropped the project altogether, so I guess it's luck that it even got released. Edit:
Too bad you guys can't revert back a version of Gmod. My friend told me in chat about the evil update, and I disabled auto updates.
Update to fix the bug should be out in an hour or so.
The clock and speedometer look so nice it makes me wonder what you were thinking with the balls. They look like, well, balls :v:. Other than that, this looks exceptionally nice. Good job.

garrys mod is back :D

Amazing! Garrysmod was down? Is it up now for sure? Download for you in any event though, this is exactly what I was looking for!
I have not downloaded it yet, but can you save configurations?
I have not downloaded it yet, but can you save configurations?
Not sure what you mean by that? Your setup saves, yes, if that's what you mean.
Very nice! :)
Would you be able to add a "Lock Widgets" option? The moving part of each widget fading in and out when you're simply opening up the ASSmod menu, or viewing gamemode help.
Woah. Awesome!
Here's MY config: Thanks for this great addon, by the way!
I love it! I hope it won't stay on v1.0.0
Awesome. Really handy for me. :)
It's cool, but I would like resizing feature, health bar is too small for me...
Hmm how about a Prop Widget that allows you to spawn props much like the spawn menu just in an easier more compact form?
Fucking sweet! Now I can really get into my Combine Elite playermodel...
I find the lua too cryptic, with only sparse comments. If your comments were the only food, everything that eats food like us would die of starvation. Edit: What is the command to access the server's ping? Edit: Am I doing something wrong? [IMG_thumb]http://i30.tinypic.com/2i06anb.jpg[/IMG_thumb] The green goes up as I lose ammo, goes full with 1 bullet, reload makes it go lower as I get more bullets. Health goes down like normal, but displays 0% constantly. Changed this for the info ball:
function PANEL:Paint ( ) if not Aeolus.Enabled:GetBool() then return true end local Hlth = math.Clamp(math.ceil(LocalPlayer():Health()), 0, 100) local Arm = math.Clamp(math.ceil(LocalPlayer():Armor()), 0, 100) /*if Hlth > Aeolus.LastHealth then Aeolus.LastHealth = Aeolus.LastHealth + 1 elseif Hlth < Aeolus.LastHealth then Aeolus.LastHealth = Aeolus.LastHealth - 1 end if Arm > Aeolus.LastArmor then Aeolus.LastArmor = Aeolus.LastArmor + 1 elseif Arm < Aeolus.LastArmor then Aeolus.LastArmor = Aeolus.LastArmor - 1 end*/ if not self:GetParent():IsAeolusEnabled() and self:GetParent().CloseCountdown == 0 then return true end local HealthCirc = 3.6 * Hlth local ArmorCirc = 3.6 * Arm
And this for the ammo ball:
function PANEL:Paint ( ) if not Aeolus.Enabled:GetBool() then return true end if not self:GetParent():IsAeolusEnabled() and self:GetParent().CloseCountdown == 0 then return true end --local PrimaryCirc = (360 / Aeolus.CurrentMaxPrimaryAmmo) * Aeolus.CurrentPrimaryAmmo --local SecondaryCirc = (360 / Aeolus.CurrentMaxSecondaryAmmo) * Aeolus.CurrentSecondaryAmmo local PrimaryCirc = (360 / Aeolus.CurrentPrimaryAmmo) local SecondaryCirc = (360 / Aeolus.CurrentSecondaryAmmo) if Aeolus.CurrentPrimaryAmmo == -1 then PrimaryCirc = 360 end
it goes instantly like I wanted, but not... like this. Help? EDIT Health fixed. had to change line 45 to Hlth and line 47 to Arm.

I edited some of it to make it more instant (the circles took forever to fill/empty).
I edited some of it to make it more instant (the circles took forever to fill/empty).
Ehh, I wanted to make them more smooth. With the smoothness came slowness :ninja:
Yeah. So, how do I make the ammo ball fill up instantly? Edit: And also, thanks for the super-cryptic coding (not a single comment in ANY standard widgets)
local PrimaryCirc = (360 / math.Clamp(math.ceil(LocalPlayer():GetActiveWeapon():Clip1() or 0), 0, 100)) local SecondaryCirc = (360 / math.Clamp(math.ceil(LocalPlayer():GetAmmoCount(LocalPlayer():GetActiveWeapon():GetSecondaryAmmoType()) or 0), 0, 100))
May give errors every now and then, because I have no error prevention in there, but it will work for your needs.
As usual, nice release. Though I personally don't have use for it (at least, at this time), I usually admire your innovativeness. Keep up the great work.
