Someone asked me what happened to the thread for the Forest Melon, and I'm not sure... it just sorta disappeared.
It didn't show up when I searched for it, but following a link in the Plague Melon thread I eventually found a copy of it in the archives. Dunno if that means it was deleted or got lost when the forums shit themselves or what.

A SEnt that will replicate and spread around a map, creating a random forest as it goes. Comes with a handy STool to control it.

If someone can confirm that I can access the EP2 models in the current version somehow then I'll add them in.
If not then it can wait until the beta is no longer a beta.

I am assuming that they are only in the beta as the beta has the engine update so I would have thought that content would be updated at the same time.

Well, in any case, mine doesn't work very well in the beta. I can only make one melon at a time (it doesn't duplicate).

It's really, really fun to play "jungle stalker" using Mahalis's TF2 Melee Weapons Pack's machete and your little forest with some combine mixed in. I spent hours and hours just meddling around the forest stabbing people. Shame that awesome radiotower didn't have a proper collision mask, would have had fun spamming fletchettes at citizens from above.

Most people have the OB,But you should include a "DIY" fix or a version without the EP2 trees, As people WILL whine about seeing errors.

Nah, you should do check boxes instead of drop downs for different types of plants.
This is a fun stool. Beast Server has a new map (which is all fucked up right now cause of the new engine), it has one area for tank battles and random forests make it look better.

It's already there - in addition to letting you use all the different trees or trees only from a specific game, I added modes that let you use everything minus whatever game you're missing.
There's also layers - something I'm not sure anyone but me has ever found a use for. Usually anyone I've asked about it wasn't sure what they were for so its probably my fault for not explaining it properly.
Normally forest melons will stay a certain distance from each other, so that you don't get your trees overlapping. If, however, you build two forests on separate layers, then as the melons spread they'll ignore each other, letting the two forests overlap.
What this lets you do is combine specific sets of trees if you're looking for an option that I didn't put in the dropdown list.

Meant to explain this bit but forgot.
The reason I can't give you checkboxes for each and every tree is that depending on the type of forest you select, each tree has a different probability of appearing.
If you select "all", for example, then every tree has the same probability, because there's so goddamn many of them you'd never tell the difference.
If you select "episode 2", then things change a bit. There are live and dead trees in the ep2 setting, and each of the live trees has a higher probability than the dead ones. If they didn't, the forest would come out looking retarded.

Sorry to bump this, but is it possible to add custom presets using custom models for this? Like, instead of using a tree model, you can use a custom tree model or whatever.
I looked at fmelon.lua and see the area where it chooses the models, but I don't know much about lua and wouldn't know how to add a preset.
